My video input doesn't work when I plug my dvd player/video camera into the tv, what should I do?

I plug my dvd player/video camera into my tv(yes the plugs are in the right color inputs). Then I press aux. and turn on the dvd player/video camera. The sound from the dvd works but I just see a black screen with stripes on it. I didn't have problems with this before. I just watched a dvd with the same tv a couple weeks a go, but now it doesn't work. Any ideas with what's wrong?
