How To Secure Home With The Help Of Home Security Door Sensors

It is quite normal for most homeowners to take the trouble of installing home security systems in their homes in order to get protection for their home and near and dear ones. The fact of the matter is that there are various different options open to you when it concerns securing your home and so you can choose from everything including monitoring systems to simple security alarm systems. Home security door sensors are a good option and they are very effective in alerting you to the opening of a door that is being monitored by home security door sensors. If you set the alarm and the home security door sensors detect movement of the door they will then send signals to the controlling computer which then sounds an alarm and/or calls up the police - depending on how you have programmed the computer.

Typically, home security door sensors work with the help of magnets. However, the sensors can be mounted in a variety of different ways. In most cases the sensor’s mechanism is placed to one side of the entire unit while the magnet will be placed on the other side. In case the metallic components lose their contact with one another the sensor sends out an alarm.

How can an alarmed door (burglar alarm component) be defeated?

To be clear, I am a writer, not a burglar. I'm writing a story, and I've run into a situation where my character needs to defeat a burglar alarm to get into a victim's home. I don't need a lot of detail about how to defeat the alarm, but I need to get him in through an alarmed door or window and I need to figure out how he can defeat the infrared sensor inside the house.

My initial thought is that he should be able to jam something in between the contact points on the door or window to allow the circuit to remain closed even when the door is opened, but I don't know what. I piece of conductible metal? Something else?

No idea about the infrared sensor. (It can be another kind of sensor, too. Infrared just seemed the most common when I did my research about burglar alarms.) Anyone have any ideas?
