Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX5 - Impressive Camera, Great, Clear Pictures, Intelligent Camera

This Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX5 was more than MY SPOUSE AND I was expecting. Easy to use. Speedy picture snapping. Clarity of pics is the greatest. Very intelligent camera. I will not dwell on most of the technicalities of this camera which will be covered in other reviews. I bought this for my significant other and also with the intention of getting one to supplement my DSLR.
Performance wise is a great low light camera due to upon processed fast lens. For the same reason you will need wonderful macro shots. I am less impressed with the quality of its middle and long range portraits. 'Grainy' pictures are evident over 400 ISO.
I also found it diffucult to adjust to the 'see through' screen rather than having a view finder.
With respect to our purchase through the party including in the package was an extra battery but this was a generic the one that Panasonic does not readily accept. I sends out a communication stating inappropriate battery and then your camera shuts off. The battery is ok like a quick use spare but not regarding extended useage. We were also promised a tripod which don't arrive in the original parcel.
Although I emailed the vendor who fast replied. He could not replace the battery but offered an alternative 8GB S. D. card as well expressed regret in the tripod not being sent. Both found its way to quick time.
Would recommend this camera for everyday snappers along with beginning enthusiasts. It has something for all.

For how I like to, and what I love to shoot, I have not had a greater camera than the Panasonic LX5.

The Leitz contact lens is super sharp... "it's all to the lens" is the old saying during film terms. My old standard were definitely Nikon lenses I loved shooting by using, the 24mm f/2. 8, 55mm f/3. 5 macro and also 105mm f/2. 8 short telephoto were iconic lenses known with regard to their sharpness. I shot a few times using a film Leica M5 and that ended up being super sharp too, like the LX5.

The 24mm (35mm equivalent) is this view of life - I familiar with live with the Nikon 24 f/2. 8 on my FM - this Panasonic camera and Leica lens is at least a sharp if not more so, with less distortion. No more fat arms or pulled cheeks on the edges, everything looks pretty normal given this is a super wide. I can hold the camera during arms length and take good two-shots of my niece and me in a dim elevator or dark restaurant without having a glare-y harsh flash. Magical.

The 2. 0 maximum f-stop perfect for these two-shots. In the underwater room at the California Academy of Sciences last month, I did the two shot of us at 24mm @ f/2. 0 @ 1/30th for a pretty low ISO so the shot had no digital noise in any way but captured the weird color cast of being several feet underwater which wouldn't have happened that has a flash - beautiful.

Where can I get some generic security decals and signs? I need them fast.?

I'm talking about signs that say stuff like "Property under video surveillance"... etc.
we have druggies for neighbors and we're concerned.
(I do have a motion activated webcam set up)

Radio Shack sells them and you can get them online at http://www.x10.com
