Has anyone used the product ssscat?

My cat is always on my counters. he knows he's not supposed to be up there because as soon as i enter the room runs off the counter. so i'm going to invest in ssscat. It's an aerosol spray (just dry air) that has a motion sensor on it to keep him off the cupboard. I usually don't mind cats being cats, but there are times where there are wine glasses up there, and I have a dog too. I don't want to come home to a broken wine glass and a dogs bloody paw. So just wondering if anyone had any info on it.
also if you've used it, how close can you get to it before it goes off? The only problem that might arise is that i live in a small apt, so my kitchen is basically just the size of a hallway. I'm worried about setting it off all the time, or if i turn it off when i'm home that he'll get up there sometimes and learn that sometimes it's "ok" to be up there.
